The origins of Santa Susanna date back to the 12th century when the Alfata Valley was populated by peasants cultivating vineyards and fields of grain crops.

Today a few traces of the mediaeval era still remain, specifically the watchtowers, the chapel of Santa Susanna and the old fortified farmhouses, some of them still inhabited. One such is Can Rosich, which now provides rural tourist accommodation.

All the buildings of Santa Susanna, which represent a significant part of its artistic and historical heritage, keep alive the value of the legacy enclosed within their walls.
