The Generalitat promotes the new badge to highlight and empower those who make quality, specialization, public-private collaboration and sustainability their raison d’être.

Santa Susanna is once again at the forefront of family tourism destinations. The Catalan Tourism Agency (ACT), a body that depends on the Generalitat, has chosen Santa Susanna as one of the destinations in Catalonia that deserve to receive the HOLA family recognition! All the members of the committee of the Family Tourism program who have evaluated Santa Susanna’s candidacy have agreed that the destination is a “Mediterranean oasis due to its location between the sea and the natural park with a great offer of hotel accommodation specialized in families and with a commitment of the destination in the field of sustainability that fits perfectly with the recognition Hola Família!

Santa Susanna has successfully passed 32 of the 36 criteria set by the ACT. This represents an achievement rate of 88.9%. The ACT has also noted that the destination has one of the highest levels in Catalonia of the private sector dedicated to family tourism.

The recognition HELLO family! Accredit who owns it as a reference destination for family holidays in Catalonia for both local visitors and international tourists. It is a hallmark that guarantees that the destination offers a tourist experience adapted to the needs of different types of family and, above all, to those of children and teenagers.

It is not a recognition that is granted to all tourist destinations simply because they can demonstrate that they have an extensive tradition in this field. It is necessary, as in the case of Santa Susanna, to accredit a solid specialization in the offer intended for families where quality is a priority; also the commitment of the private sector in this line and the commitment to environmentally friendly tourism that makes sustainability its main value.

Being part of this badge has as its most important counterpart, apart from the prestige and public recognition of the quality of the destination, having greater visibility and prioritization in the ACT’s family tourism campaigns, especially in international markets and to be able to participate preferentially in the innovative projects that include the family segment promoted by the ACT.

In 2003, Santa Susanna was also one of the first destinations to obtain what at that time was an innovative brand, that of family tourism.
