  • In 2025, Santa Susanna will host the meeting of managers of the DTI network from all over Spain

It will be the first time that a municipality in Catalonia organizes a summit of these characteristics, which began in 2018 and of which there have already been six editions.

Santa Susanna will be the seat of the VII Meeting of Managers of the Network of Smart Tourist Destinations (DTI) that will take place during the first semester of 2025. The public company Segittur will be in charge of organizing the conclave together with the Santa Susanna City Council and Barcelona Provincial Council, which is the promoter of the DTI network in the province. The managers of the destinations that are part of the network will meet here to analyze the evolution of the sector, to discuss tourism’s commitment to sustainability and innovation. And to share experiences and synergies between destinations.

In this way, the municipality becomes the first in Catalonia to host and organize one of the meetings of the managers of the DTI network. The first summit took place in 2018 in Alcalá de Henares. Since then, five more have been made: Aranjuez, Palencia, El Ejido, Gijón and Tenerife.

Santa Susanna is one of the tourist destinations most committed to the concepts of sustainability and innovation. At the last International Tourism Fair (Fitur), which takes place in Madrid, Santa Susanna became the first sun and beach destination in Spain to certify the carbon footprint of the local tourism sector.

The DTI network is made up of 619 members: 440 destinations, 86 institutions, 86 companies and 7 international observers. It is a tool at the service of the implementation of the Smart Tourist Destinations model. It is managed by the Mercantile Society for the Management of Innovation and Tourism Technologies (Segittur), which depends on the Ministry of Industry, Trade and Tourism of Spain
