Santa Susanna obtains the largest number of Maresme Biosphere stamps for tourism sustainability

It has been achieved by 11 companies and services, in addition to the City Council and Platja de Llevant, which represents recognition of the municipality’s efforts to do things right

Santa Susanna has once again become the most distinguished Maresme municipality with the Biosphere seal for tourism quality and sustainability. This year, it has achieved 13 – one more than last year – which represents recognition of the commitment of the City Council and the town’s services and companies to do things right.

In an event held last Thursday in Pineda de Mar, they received Biosphere certification: AQUA Hotel Aquamarina & Spa; AQUA Hotel Montagut Suites; AQUA Hotel Onabrava & Spa; Agave Hotel & Spa; Hotel Alegria Caprici Verd; Hotel Alegria Mar Mediterrània; Hotel Tahiti Playa & Suites; Can Rosich farmhouse; Santa Susanna Chic Apartments; the Worm of Santa Susanna; Levant Beach; Tourist Office of Santa Susanna; and the City Council of Santa Susanna. After Santa Susanna, the municipalities that obtained the most distinctions are Masnou (11); Pineda de Mar (10); and Calella (9).

Throughout the Maresme, a hundred companies have received the Biosphere certificate. The president of the Consorci de Promoció Turística Costa del Maresme, Joaquim Arnó, recalled that the Biosphere certification goes beyond a badge, it is a way of doing things that permeates the entire organization. Arnó thanked the support of the Provincial Council of Barcelona, ​​the Barcelona Chamber of Commerce and the Responsible Tourism Institute.
